Musik is ein täglicher Begleiter in meinem Leben und ich bin immer auf der Suche nach neuen Sounds. Ich höre eben alles, außer die Songs, die ich nicht mag.
Music is part of my life on a daily basis and I’m always looking for new sounds. I just listen to everything, except for the songs I don’t like.
Ich danke dem Universum jeden Tag dafür, dass es die Gorillaz gibt.
Die britische, fiktionale Band ist seit (fast) immer meine Lieblingsband und darf deshalb nicht auf dieser Liste fehlen. Nicht zuletzt, weil sie 2017 ein neues Album veröffentlicht haben!
„Humanz“ ist ein für die Gorillaz typisches Meisterwerk und das lange Warten von sieben Jahren hat sich definitiv gelohnt.
Das ich seit meiner Kindheit ihrer Musik nicht überdrüssig werde, spricht wohl für sich.
Zudem habe ich dem „Humanz“-Album auch zu verdanken, dass die Band endlich wieder auf Tour geht und ich die Möglichkeit hatte, meine allerliebste Lieblingsband ENDLICH live zu erleben. Das war ein Traum, der für mich in 2017 in Erfüllung gegangen ist. Und das mit so einem großartigen Soundtrack!

The British, fictional band has been my favourite band (almost) for ever. That’s why they have to be on this list, for sure. But also, because they released their new album in 2017!
„Humanz“ is a typical Gorillaz work of art and was definitely worth the long wait of seven years.
That I have not yet gotten tired of their music, is a fact that speaks for their greatness, I feel like.
Also– the release of „Humanz“ and the tour that was attached to that release made it possible for me to see my favourite band live for the first time.
Such a big dream of mine coming true! And with such an amazing soundtrack to go along with it!

Spaß beiseite: Ich liebe ihren Sound. 2017 haben die zwei Jungs ihre zweite EP „NOW“ veröffentlicht und nachdem ihre erste EP mich 2016 schon begeisterte, hat „NOW“ nochmal einen draufgelegt.
Es gibt nichts besseres, um zu entspannen, zu tanzen, zu lernen, zu feiern, zu genießen. Ihre Musik geht immer und ich kann einfach nicht aufhören, mich über jeden weiteren Entwicklungsschritt und den größer werdenden Erfolg von Sinan und Nico zu freuen.
Dieser Sound ist für alle, die einen dopen Start ins neue Jahr wollen! Oder eigentlich immer einen dopen [hier beliebigen Begriff einfügen].

And you know what is the best thing about them, apart from their perfect music? I actually know the guys!
Jokes aside though: I love their sound. In 2017 the two boys released their second EP called „NOW“ and after their first EP (released in 2016 and titled „Dope est Dope“) already thrilled me, „NOW“ convinced me of their awesomeness even more.
There is nothing better to listen to, when you wanna chill, dance, study, party or just genuinely enjoy music. Their music always works for me and I can’t stop getting excited about everything Sinan and Nico do and their growing success.
Their sound is for everyone, who want to have a dope start into the new year! Or basically, when ever you wanna have a dope [insert whatever you like here].
Once a fangirl, always a fangirl!
Wie kann ich nein sagen zu zwei wunderschönen, jungen Frauen (die sogar Zwillinge sind!) und ihrem ungewöhnlichen Sound, der sogar mehrere Sprachen beinhaltet?
Ibeyi ist eine meiner größten Entdeckungen im Musikbereich dieses Jahr. Ihr erstes Album „Ibeyi“ ist genau so ein Meisterwerk, wie das zweite Album „Ash“, das 2017 erschienen ist.
Ihre weichen Stimmen, ihre spirituell, alternative Musik und ihre wunderschönen mehrsprachigen Texte machen sie für mich einzigartig.
Ibeyi sind vermutlich meine am meisten gehörte Band von 2017 und das zurecht!
Sie sind Balsam für die Seele und süßester Honig für die Ohren… oder so.
How can I resist two stunning, young women (and twins, even!) and their unusual sound that even includes singing in more than one language?
Ibeyi might as well be my biggest musically discovery of the year. Their first album „Ibeyi“ is just as much of a masterpiece as their second one „Ash“, released in 2017.
Their soft voices, their spiritual, alternative music and their beautiful, bi- (or tri-)lingual lyrics are unique to me.
I think, Ibeyi is the band I listened to most in 2017. And I don’t regret it at all!
They ease my soul and their music is honey on my ears… or something like that.
